YOUR FAMILY’S INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy explains how Screen Routine handles information when you use our iPhone and iPad app or visit our website. The app is designed for parents and guardians to set up and manage screen-time routines on a child’s device.

1. Information on your device

Screen Routine uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks with authorization to apply limits to the apps and categories a parent chooses. Apple supplies privacy-preserving selection tokens and activity events. We use these to enforce daily allowances, play intervals, and breaks.

The app stores selected-app and category tokens, routine durations, usage thresholds reported by Screen Time, break deadlines, play/break milestones, temporary daily exceptions, and setup preferences locally. A shared on-device App Group lets the app and its Screen Time extensions coordinate these settings. The app does not send this routine data or these selection tokens to our own servers or to RevenueCat.

We do not collect the content of messages, photos, contacts, or browsing activity inside selected apps. Screen Routine does not ask for a child’s name, birth date, email address, or a separate child account.

The parent PIN is stored as a salted, derived verification value in the device-only Keychain, together with failed-attempt and retry-delay information. We do not receive the PIN. There is no PIN recovery-code feature.

If permitted, play-time alerts are delivered as local notifications. We do not register the app for a remote push-notification service. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings.

2. Subscriptions and purchases

We use Apple’s in-app purchasing system and RevenueCat to offer subscriptions, check access and trial eligibility, process purchase status, and restore purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction information, product identifiers, subscription status, and an automatically generated app user identifier. Its service also processes technical information needed to communicate with the app, such as the app and SDK version, platform, and locale.

Our integration does not attach a name, email address, parent PIN, or selected-app information to the RevenueCat identifier. This identifier is pseudonymous: it distinguishes an app customer without requiring a Screen Routine account, but it is still associated with purchase records.

We use purchase information for subscription functionality, purchase verification, and subscription reporting through RevenueCat. Apple handles billing; Screen Routine does not receive your full payment-card details. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription or erase purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat.

3. Children and parent controls

Setup, subscription decisions, permissions, and parent settings are intended to be managed by an adult. A child uses the play-and-break screens after setup. We do not use children’s activity for advertising or build advertising profiles.

Protected Child Setup uses Apple’s parental authorization and Family Sharing. Quick Setup uses individual authorization; the device owner can revoke that access or remove the app. These permissions are handled by Apple, and Screen Routine does not receive Apple Account passwords.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support without a parent’s involvement, contact us so we can review and address it. Parents may also contact us with questions about information associated with their child’s use of the app.

4. Website and support

The landing page does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts, a newsletter form, or a user account system. Its interactive routine preview runs in your browser and does not submit the chosen demo settings to us.

When you load the website, the hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request times, to deliver the site, maintain security, and diagnose errors. External links lead to services with their own privacy practices.

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your contact address, question, and any attachments. We use it to respond and resolve the issue. Please do not send your parent PIN, payment-card information, or unnecessary personal details about a child.

5. How information is shared

We use service providers where needed for purchases, subscription management, website delivery, and support. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not send the device’s app selections or screen-time routine history to advertisers.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect security or legal rights, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable privacy obligations. Apple, RevenueCat, and hosting providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Their applicable privacy terms describe their processing and safeguards.

6. Retention and security

Local settings remain on the device as needed to operate the routine. The parent-only Remove Screen Routine flow clears parental-control configuration and monitoring before revoking authorization. Removing the app clears its app data; Keychain items can survive app deletion, so the app clears surviving PIN credentials when it detects a fresh installation.

Purchase records may remain with Apple and RevenueCat to provide restoration, manage subscriptions, address disputes, prevent fraud, or meet legal obligations. Support and website records are retained as needed for their purpose and applicable obligations. We do not promise that uninstalling deletes records from those services.

We use iOS access controls, device-only Keychain protection for PIN verification data, and on-device file protections. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep the device and app updated and keep your parent PIN private.

7. Your choices and requests

  • Use the PIN-protected Parent Area to change routine settings and today’s exceptions.
  • Use Remove Screen Routine in parent settings to intentionally turn off controls before deleting the app.
  • Manage notification permissions in iOS Settings and subscriptions in your App Store account. Removing controls or deleting the app does not cancel billing.
  • Contact us about access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a data-protection authority.

We may need enough information to verify a request and identify the relevant subscription or support record. We cannot directly retrieve or edit routine settings stored only on your device. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or complete a transaction.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, its providers, or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
