Quick Setup can be removed or disabled by the device owner.Install it on the iPhone or iPad your child uses. You’ll authorize Screen Time, choose a subscription, create your private parent PIN, and set up your family’s routine on that device.
You choose a shared daily allowance, a play interval, and a break length. Screen Routine counts use of your selected apps and categories. When the play allowance is used, those apps are shielded during the break. When the daily allowance is exhausted, they stay locked until the next day, unless a parent changes today’s limit.
Protected Child Setup uses a child Apple Account in your Family Sharing group for stronger parental controls. Quick Setup uses individual authorization and does not require Family Sharing. In Quick Setup, the device owner can delete the app or revoke authorization.
Yes. In the PIN-protected Parent Area, “Just for today” lets you add time or temporarily lift the daily cap. You can restore the usual limit, and temporary exceptions expire at midnight. Play and break intervals still apply.
Yes. Subscription plans, local pricing, and any eligible free trial are shown in the app before you purchase. Trials and availability depend on the selected plan and eligibility. You can restore purchases in the app and manage your subscription in your App Store account.
Protected Child Setup helps prevent removal while parental authorization remains active. Parents can intentionally remove controls using their PIN. Quick Setup does not prevent the device owner from deleting the app or revoking Screen Time access.
